Modified Production Sedans look like "normal" sedans but they are anything but. They consist of a sedan body wrapped around a barred chassis and run highly modified versions of standard engines using methanol fuel. Wide racing tyres and sophisticated suspension packages mean that the "mod-prods" as they are known, achieve amazing performance compared to a standard car. While the fields are nearly all made up of Falcons and Commodores, there are other marques who also do very well such as Wayne Olive's Mazda RX7 seen in the picture below. Always popular at Nowra, they provide close, fender-banging racing and feed on the Ford vs Holden war that rages whenever enthusiasts meet.
